A Cornelli golf bag material guide
Faux-Leather vs. Technical Nylon: Which Golf Bag Material Is Right for You?
Both the Off-White and Deep Black Editions are available in two materials: Faux-leather and Technical Nylon. Not sure which one is right for you? This article breaks down the characteristics and differences of each material to help you choose.
Choosing Your Material
Choose between Faux-leather and Technical Nylon for the main body of your Cornelli golf bag. Your choice also applies to the rainhood, single strap and double strap. The top section around the club dividers, handles, tee holders and towel ring remain Faux-leather on both versions.
On both versions, the highlighted parts will be made from our silicone-based Faux-leather material
Faux-Leather
Silicone-based synthetic leather
For our Faux-leather golf bags, we use a silicone-based synthetic leather. Compared to real leather, it weighs significantly less while maintaining a smooth, soft feel. The material is also water-repellent, making it well suited for playing in changing weather conditions.
The silicone surface helps repel water and moisture, making the bag well suited to changing weather conditions.
Compared with polyurethane (PU) leather, the material offers greater resistance to UV exposure, helping the Deep Black and Off-White finishes retain their colour and appearance over time.
Our silicone-based Faux-leather is easy to maintain. Its ultra-smooth, non-porous surface helps prevent stains from settling in, making dirt and marks easy to wipe away.
Our silicone leather is produced through a solvent-free process, using no organic solvents such as DMF or toluene and containing no plasticizers. This reduces the use of certain chemicals during production and reflects our effort to source materials with more environmentally considerate manufacturing processes than conventional synthetic leather such as PU leather.
We carefully sourced this material as an alternative to conventional synthetic leather, such as polyurethane (PU) leather. Unlike conventional synthetic leather, it is produced through a solvent-free silicone process, using no organic solvents such as DMF or toluene and containing no plasticizers. This reduces the use of certain chemicals during production and reflects our effort to source more environmentally considerate materials.
Its ultra-smooth surface helps resist stains, while its resistance to UV fading helps preserve the colour of the bag over time. The silicone surface also stays cooler to the touch for longer, helping the Deep Black and Off-White finishes retain their intended appearance.
Technical Nylon
420D Nylon
We use 420D nylon, a strong yet lightweight synthetic fibre commonly used in performance gear. The “D” stands for denier, which indicates the weight of the yarn. Compared with heavier 1000D nylon, used in some “Ballistic Nylon” golf bags, 420D offers a smoother feel, greater flexibility and lower weight, while still providing the durability needed for everyday use.
Our 420D nylon is also waterproof, making it well suited to changing conditions on the course. We call it Technical Nylon because we chose it for its balance of lightness, durability, flexibility and weather protection.

Which Material Is Right for You?
The design stays the same either way. Faux-Leather offers a smooth, refined finish with greater resistance to UV exposure and easy maintenance, while Technical Nylon provides a lightweight, durable construction with a more technical feel. Ultimately, the choice comes down to the material, finish, and feel you prefer.
